So take the pledge and sign the petition! Pledge to create an education system that respects the human rights of every child.

Every child has the human right to a quality education in a safe and nurturing environment, so that his or her capabilities are developed to the fullest. The distribution of resources must be equitable, without regard to economic status, race or nationality. The educational system should be transparent, afford effective remedies, and be structured to involve the full participation of parents, students, teachers, and the community.

Invite your school aged child(ren) to become a youth researcher!

Ask them if they would like to provide their opinion as to their educational future. Have them take the TRUE/FALSE Test and see if they would like to be a part of the discussion and work towards making their educational future better for themselves. Have your public school children, ages 11 to 22, take the YRNES survey online at: http://icope.org/survey.html IT'S ANONYMOUS!

iCOPE is a volunteer collective of parents, educators and activists who are dedicated to building a human rights based system of public education for New York City.
